We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

Since I missed my first blog birthday last year, I thought it would be good to make a passing mention of the second one. If only just to say thank you for joining me on this little bloggy journey thus far!
What can I say? It’s been a pretty good two years. Learning what not to repeat. Cooking my first octopus (thank you Tessa Kiros). Winning tickets to Rick Stein’s show. Learning that ice cream is, in fact, something you can make from scratch. Beginning the (hopefully here to stay) tradition of hosting dinner parties. Waxing lyrical about whatever. Travelling to Barcelona, Morocco, London, etc. Moving to Auckland this year.
Etc etc too much to sum up in one post. So happy birthday blog, you big boy – and thank you everyone for reading, emailing (please keep doing that – I always love receiving your emails!) and commenting on my nonsense. I hope to get better at writing and cooking as I go along!
P.S. And to think everything started from insomnia…
Pictured: dinner in under 20 minutes = angel hair pasta with chopped mint, lemon zest and juice, chilli flakes, parmesan, a poached egg and garlic + a random cooked-for-three-minutes-in-the-microwave cake in a bowl topped with leftover toasted coconut and Hakanoa ginger syrup. Haven’t quite perfected microwave cake; tips/advice welcome :-)
Happy 2 years big boy .. you are growing up fast. Time flies when you are having fun … or writing =P
Too true, Miss Tracey! Time flies anyway, but flies much faster in fun times.
Congratulations Mel! I’m happy to have found your blog. I do enjoy reading your ramblings. ;) They always put a smile on my face. Here’s to many more blogging years!
Thanks for your comment Kirsty, so sweet – I feel the same about your blog, I love everything from the global aspect of your blog to the “Spoon Awards” to reading about the adventures of Mr N and Miss A. :-)
Email me your recipe so I can try it and let you know! I’m sure it’s yummy :) Although I remember mine always had an eggy taste…
Yay Mel! Thank you so much for putting in links in this post to some of your previous entries! I hadn’t read some of your earlier entries, and it made for some fun reading!! I really should start blogging again myself :)
Jian – no recipe yet, I tried it again this evening and still not happy!
Michelle – thanks, girl! If you start blogging again please send me your link, I always love reading your writing :-)
